Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society – Call for new Board members
The Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society is a charitable organization headquartered in St. John’s, with the mandate to promote and preserve the traditional folk arts of the province. Our main activity is producing the annual Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival in Bannerman Park every summer. We also present Folk Night weekly at the Ship Pub and Young Folk at the Hall, a youth music mentorship program in various locations in the province.
Our volunteer Board of Directors meets monthly, and most members also serve on a committee. We are seeking new directors to join the board, particularly those with expertise in accounting (CPA designation), legal, human resources, and project management. Prospective board members must be elected by the membership at our AGM on October 20th.
