The Law Society Library supports lawyer competence and enhances the services lawyers deliver to their clients by providing the legal community with research and reference assistance and access to an excellent collection of Canadian and select U.S. and U.K. legal materials.

The Library receives 90% of its funding from lawyers, with the balance of the revenue coming from the Law Foundation of NL. Although the library does not receive any government funding, we welcome members of the public to come to the Law Society Library and use any of our print resources.

While not being able to provide legal advice, library staff are pleased to assist the public with access to legal information. Whether you are a student, historical researcher or self represented litigant we can help you to find informative books, laws, useful websites and other organizations that can assist you. As librarians participate in activities which take them away from the library, they are not always available to provide assistance. We would ask that you call the library, 753-7770, before you drop in.
