Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NL Health Services) brings together five former separate health entities – Eastern Health, Central Health, Western Health, Labrador-Grenfell Health, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information. The creation of a provincial health authority was announced following recommendations from Health Accord NL.

Under the guidance of the Director – Health Legal Services, this position provides legal services to all departments of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services. This position provides extensive advice in the area of health law, including mental health and addictions, elder law, adult protection and legal advice on corporate and financial matters. Strong litigation experience and skills are required for this position as representation of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services in matters before the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador is required.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
A minimum of seven years (7) experience with extensive involvement in the areas of health law and consent and capacity issues along with litigation experience is preferred.
The candidate should have demonstrated exceptional leadership, teamwork, analytical, litigation, and communication skills.
Candidates must be eligible for membership or be an active member, in good standing, with the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
