SUMMARY:Review of Lands Act Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Mr. Denis G. Barry\, QC has been appointed as the Law Society’s representative on an Advisory Committee set up by the Minister of Municipal and Government Affairs to review the Lands Act. The scope of work is outlined in the Terms of Reference below. \nThere will be a series of public engagements commencing in St. John’s and moving throughout the island and Labrador. Any member may make individual representation to the Advisory Committee\, and attend at any scheduled public engagement. The times and places of these engagements will be published shortly. \nMembers are invited to attend a meeting with Mr. Barry\, QC to be held at the Law Society Building\, 3rd Floor\, 196-198 Water Street on Monday\, 23 March 2015 at 5:30 pm to make any suggestions or proposals to amend the legislation\, to enhance the application process\, or to point out any situations or issues the Committee may take into consideration to make the Lands Act and its regulations and/or processes\, current\, expedient and less cumbersome. \nIf you plan to attend this meeting\, please confirm your attendance via email to: erin.rowe@lawsociety.nf.ca. \nScope of Work – Advisory Committee – Lands Act Review
