SUMMARY:Silent No More: Virtual Tour of the Former Mohawk Institute Indian Residential School
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Woodland Cultural Centre\, the Canadian Race Relations Foundation is pleased to offer Silent No More—an impactful virtual experience designed to encourage awareness\, education \, and reflection on the legacy of Indian residential schools in Canada. \nSpace is limited\, and only two sessions are available. Participants are asked to register for one session only\, to make sure others can access it as well. Please note that this workshop will not be recorded. \nJoin on one of the following dates: \n\nJune 12\, 2026 | 1:00–2:30 PM ET\nSeptember 17\, 2026 | 1:00–2:30 PM ET\n\nAbout the webinar: \nThis experience takes participants through the 140-year history of the Mohawk Institute\, offering insight into the realities of life within the institution. Viewers will explore key spaces throughout the building\, including the boys’ and girls’ dormitories\, cafeteria\, laundry room\, and other areas\, while gaining a deeper understanding of the lived experiences of the children who attended. Created in collaboration with Thru the Reddoor\, the tour is led by a guide and features reflections and interviews with five Survivors of the Mohawk Institute.
