SUMMARY:Swearing-In Ceremony for Chief Justice Daniel Boone
DESCRIPTION:The administration of the oath of allegiance and oath of office to Chief Justice Daniel Boone as Chief Justice of Newfoundland and Labrador will take place on Friday\, 25 September 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the presence of Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador\, the Honourable Joan Marie Aylward. \nThe Honourable Deborah E. Fry\, former Chief Justice of Newfoundland and Labrador\, will administer the oaths to Chief Justice Boone.  The Honourable Deborah E. Fry will formally introduce the new Chief Justice to members of the Bar and assembled guests and invite the Minister of Justice for Canada and the Province\, or their representatives\, as well as representatives of the Bar\, to respond. \nAll members of the Law Society are invited to attend the ceremony which will take place in Courtroom No. 1\, Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador\, 309 Duckworth Street\, St. John’s\, Newfoundland and Labrador. \nFor further information regarding this Ceremony\, you may contact the Office of Connie Greene\, Judicial Assistant to the Chief Justice\, at telephone number (709) 729-7903 or email connie.greene@judicloud.ca.
