SUMMARY:Mindless to Mindful Eating - Free Event
DESCRIPTION:We have developed a culture of mindless eating and drinking. We also mindlessly snack because we are under stress\, are simply bored\, and have developed bad habits. We aren’t thinking through the consequences of our eating habits and as a result chronic disease\, especially here in NL\, is on the rise. \nThe good news is that we can change this! We can become more mindful about what we are eating\, start to feel better almost immediately\, and set ourselves up for a healthier future. It is simply a mindset shift and it is totally within your power to do it! \nJoin Denise Follett in Mindless to Mindful Eating to learn how! \nRegister (this event is free of charge)\nEmail thebacknine709@gmail.com \nBiography\nDenise Follett was born in St. John’s and other than 5 years in Kansas City\, she has lived in St. John’s her entire life. \nShe graduated from MUN with a Commerce degree in 1995 and spent 25 years in the tax industry as either a tax auditor\, tax accountant\, or tax analyst.  In that 25 years\, she dealt with chronic pain due to a severe back injury and several car accidents.  Further\, she struggled with stress and it took a toll on her health. \nShe realized 3 years ago she needed a career change after a very terse discussion with her family doctor\, she enrolled in a certified health coaching program.  Part of the struggle with her chosen career was that  she always felt she wanted to help people.  As a health coach\, she has found her niche. She now works with women to change their habits as a sustainable approach to a healthy way of living with the hopes of preventing the chronic disease that plagues this province. The education she provides in her program is the reason why Bounce Innovation Foundation\, a collaboration of Eastern Health\, MUN\, and other agencies\, have partnered with her health coaching practice. \nAs a Certified Health Coach\, she is now living a very different life as she “walks the talk”. She has 3 grown children and spends most of her free time walking or hiking with her dog. \n
