SUMMARY:Using the Charter in CFCSA Cases for Parents’ Counsel
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar\, Paul LeBlanc (Barrister & Solicitor) and Sarah Runyon (Partner\, Marion & Runyon) will discuss how parents’ counsel can use the Charter in family policing cases\, otherwise known as child protection cases. This workshop will identify reviewable decisions\, concerns regarding the disclosure of medical records under s. 96 of the CFCSA as it relates to s. 8 of the Charter\, the procedure to initiate an application for Charter costs\, and the constitutional implications of the “safety plan.” Participants may claim up to 1.5 hours of CPD with the LSBC.
