Whether you are an adept specialist or a newcomer to the field\, this seminar promises invaluable insights and pragmatic knowledge applicable across diverse legal spheres. \nSeminar Presenters \nKatie Doherty \nKatie Doherty is Crown Counsel at the Crown Law Office Criminal\, Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario). Her practice includes both trial and appellate work and she has prosecuted criminal offences at all levels of court in Ontario and at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has an interest in the law of privilege as well as search and seizure issues in the digital age\, including the search of electronic devices. She is a member of the Crown Law Office – Criminal search experts’ group and is coordinator of the Electronic Surveillance Unit for the Province of Ontario. She regularly advises police and crown counsel regarding search and seizure\, privilege\, as well as wiretap issues. She is the author of The Law of Privilege in Canada. \nSteven Scruton \nSteve Scruton is a Partner at MacGillivray Law whose practice primarily extends to personal injury and insurance litigation.  Before joining MacGillivray Law\, Steve began his career at a large regional law firm\, following which he helped open a legal office for one of the leading insurance companies in the market\, serving as their in-house counsel for the jurisdiction.
