SUMMARY:From Advocate to Adjudicator - Putting it in Neutral
DESCRIPTION:Seminar Overview           \n This seminar will provide insights into becoming and being a neutral decision maker from an administrative law perspective. \nThere is no single road map for lawyers who want to become a neutral decision-maker or an independent adjudicator. The topics to be canvassed will include: \n\nWhy and how a lawyer becomes a neutral decision-maker;\nHow becoming a neutral changes a lawyer’s career path;\nThe positives and negatives of being a neutral as opposed to an advocate;\nThe “dos” and “don’ts” for lawyers who appear before neutral decision-makers; and\nWhat writing decisions is like\, particularly when facing appellate/judicial review.\n\nIn-person attendance is strongly encouraged where possible.
