Her practice areas spanned a broad spectrum of immigration and refugee applications with a focus on Permanent Resident applications and criminal inadmissibility issues. She also has decades of experience in adult education – teaching\, writing and developing instructional materials such as the Immigration Practitioner’s Handbook published annually by Thomson Carswell Ltd. from 2006-2012. \nLynn is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Law at Queens University teaching in the Graduate Program in Immigration and Citizenship Law [GDipICL]. Prior programs\, each capped at 50 participants\, have generated a waiting list of qualified applicants. \nDiversity in the Courtroom Program \nThe College has long been committed to increasing its ranks of talented\, accomplished and diverse trial lawyers by including more women and persons of color\, varying ethnicities\, disabilities\, and sexual orientation. DESCRIPTION:12:00 Noon AT / 12:30 PM NT\nOnline Zoom Presentation \n1 hour followed by 15 mins for further discussion with our presenter or FDRIA\nRecording will be available on demand the following week.  \nFamily dispute resolution service for parents who continue to experience significant conflict with a co-parent. \nABSTRACT This webinar is for family law professionals who work with parents epxperiencing significant conflict in co-parenitng and implementing their parening plan often resulting in continuous court motions.  \nWhen children are exposed to ongoing conflict between their parents\, they are at risk for social and mental health problems\, and may experience more difficulty with their own intimate relationships in the long term.  Parenting coordination can help to reduce parents’ conflict and may provide respite from exposure to their parents’ conflict. \nParenting coordination combines education\, coaching\, mediation and where necessary\, arbitration\, to interpret the parenting plan related to day-to-day decisions. The Parenting Coordinator provides information\, effective tools and strategies for parents to improve their co-parent dynamic and communication to provide parents and children some respite from conflict. In some cases\, the role of the parenting coordinator is to disengage the parents completely. \nHilary Linton is a senior family lawyer\, mediator\, parenting coordinator and arbitrator. In this webinar\, the winners of the 2023 National Youth Justice Policing Award will share their experience dealing with youth who have been found guilty of their first criminal offence\, and face various challenges and risks. \nThe presenter will discuss the spectrum of youth justice approaches available in these situations. She will also discuss her police service’s initiative\, “Toucher le Sommet”\, where police officers mentor youth through sports and games\, over the course of then weeks\, to support their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community in the City of Saint-Eustache. \nFor her work on “Project Toucher le Sommet”\,  Constable Jessica Bonneville was awarded the Minister of Justice National Youth Justice Policing Award in 2023. \nPresenter \nConstable Jessica Bonneville joined the Saint-Eustache Police Service in 2020 as a patrol officer.
