Canada’s Taxpayers’ Ombudsman letter
We have been contacted by the Office of the Taxpayers’ Ombudsman, Government of Canada, to circulate the attached letter to our membership.
As Taxpayers’ Ombudsman, Ms. Profit addresses service-related issues arising from taxpayers’ interactions with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). She operates independently and at arm’s length from the CRA. She plays a key role in breaking down barriers to service and affecting change by enhancing CRA’s accountability and service.
Her mandate is to provide an independent and objective review of unresolved complaints from taxpayers and benefit recipients on the services received from the CRA.
