Law Library Moving to “Moderate Restrictions” on November 1, 2021

The Law Library is moving to the next phase of reopening! We are moving to our “Moderate Restrictions” phase starting Monday, November 1, 2021.

In accordance with government guidelines, in this new phase:

  • Our remote services (contactless pickup, scanning, researching and loan recommendations) will still be offered by telephone or email (709-753-7770 or lawlibrary@lsnl.ca).
  • LSNL members in good standing will be able to come to the Law Library without prior appointment, however, to accommodate health measures, space is limited to two OPAC stations and two tables.
  • The following guidelines are in place to ensure the safety of staff and all persons attending the Law Library:
    • Per the Law Society’s mandatory vaccination policy, no one will be permitted to enter the library without providing proof of vaccination (either NLVaxPass or government issued proof of Covid-19 vaccination). If you have already provided proof you will not need to provide it again.
      • If you’re unable to meet this requirement, we ask that you please continue to use the remote services.
      • Masks are mandatory at all times while present in the Law Library and you will have to complete a Covid-19 screening questionnaire upon arrival.
    • Access will be from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily (no entry after 4:00 PM), excluding statutory holidays. Please plan your trip to ensure you’re able to finish by closing.
      • Due to space constraints, we strongly recommend calling to confirm there is room.
      • Afterhours access is still currently suspended.
        • Members can come to use the databases, access resources or do their own work, however, due to our limited space, we ask that you please be considerate of other members and be efficient with your time.
  • The second floor remains closed to members and you must request materials from staff.
    • Please contact us ahead of time, if possible, so we have time to get your materials ready.

If you wish to make an appointment or request materials be available upon arrival, please call 709-753-7770.
