Taxpayers’ Ombudsman’s visit to Newfoundland and Labrador, 27 October 2017

We have been contacted by the Office of the Taxpayers’ Ombudsman, Government of Canada, to determine whether there is any interest in meeting with the Taxpayers’ Ombudsman, Ms. Sherra Profit, who will be in St. John’s on Friday, October 27, 2017 and available to meet that afternoon (at 1:00 pm).

As Taxpayers’ Ombudsman, Ms. Profit’s mandate is to assist, advise, and inform the Minister [of National Revenue] about any matter relating to services provided to a taxpayer by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). To fulfill this mandate, Ms. Profit is conducting outreach across Canada to raise awareness about her role, and that of the Office of the Taxpayers’ Ombudsman. This includes connecting with Indigenous Peoples and those organizations that provide service and support to them, and to learn about any service issues they may have faced during their interactions with the CRA.

Ms. Profit would also like to hear from participants about the types of issues they experienced in their dealings with the CRA.
