Madison is a recent graduate from the University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Law. She was born and raised in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL and is a member of the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation.
After graduation, Madison moved to Toronto, Ontario and recently began articling at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG). She is working in their Business Law group with a focus on Indigenous and Energy Law.
Madison also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from UNB. She completed her Business and Law degrees concurrently and graduated with Dean’s List Designation. While at UNB, Madison gained invaluable advocacy skills from coaching and participating in competitive moots. She was a semi-finalist in the Donald G.H. Bowman Tax Moot 2022 and competed in the Davies Annual Corporate/Securities Law Moot in 2023.
In between semesters, she spent a summer working at a law firm in St. John’s, NL and in project control at one of Canada’s largest financial institutions. She often provides mentorship to aspiring indigenous lawyers and is looking forward to start building her indigenous law practice after articling. Outside of the office, you can find Madison trying a new coffee shop, running by the waterfront, or catching up on reality TV.
