Municipal Issues Arising in Real Estate Transactions

Seminar Overview       

Join us for our upcoming seminar focused on municipal issues impacting real estate transactions in Newfoundland and Labrador. This session will explore critical topics such as expropriation (including an overview of the recent Lynch and Shute decisions), tax sales, non-conformity, subdivision/consolidation, and the purchase and sale of municipal land. Our presenters will also discuss notable provisions of the Urban Rural and Planning Act (including the Occupancy and Maintenance Regulations), the St. John’s Act, and the Towns and Local Service Districts Act. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on how these issues influence real estate transactions and learn strategies to navigate potential challenges.
