Chase Holwell is a 3L at the University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Law. An Inuk and beneficiary of the Nunatsiavut Government, he grew up in Nain, Labrador—the northernmost community in the province.
Prior to his admission at UNB, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Classics (with a minor in Law and Society) from the Memorial University of Newfoundland; along with certificates in Criminology, Ancient Languages, and Indigenous Studies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chase worked for SmartICE as their Summer Project Coordinator to further ice safety in Nunatsiavut and elsewhere.
He worked for the Nunatsiavut Government as a legal assistant over the summer, continuing to help his community and his people. Chase hopes to further Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Relations in his professional career; and bring Inuit values into the legal system in a newfound era of reconciliation.
