Topic: Governance and Privacy Principles in the Non-Profit Sector
This session will discuss governance principles to provide non-profit directors a clear understanding of their governance roles, with a focus on safeguarding assets, including information assets, and ensuring strategic alignment with the organization’s mission. This meeting will discuss best practices and highlight practical approaches to oversight, accountability and long-term sustainability. The speakers will talk about their experience with concerns and pressures that are dealt with on a daily basis. Other topics include civil litigation practice with a focus in the areas of health and privacy, advice regarding collection, use and disclosure of personal information, assistance with responding to access to information requests and appeals, and guiding investigations and responses to cybersecurity and privacy breaches.
