AI and Lawyers: A Beginner’s Guide – The Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador

May 24, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Seminar Overview

AI has now replaced Blockchain, Web3, and NFTs as the “must haves” in a lawyer’s toolbox. But what is AI? And does it really have any utility for lawyers? If so, what would be the uses? This one-hour lunch and learn webinar will be a reality check on AI for lawyers, and give participants an overview of what’s happening and where it may go – including a discussion on GPT-4. There will also be time for questions.

Seminar Presenter: Mitchell Kowalski

Mitchell Kowalski is the Visiting Professor of Legal Innovation at the University of Calgary Law School, a Fastcase 50 Global Legal Innovator, a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management, and the author of the critically acclaimed books, Avoiding Extinction: Reimagining Legal Services for the 21st Century, and The Great Legal Reformation: Notes from the Field. He was awarded the Ontario Bar Association President’s Award for “Leadership in Justice Innovation,” and is often hired by law firms around the world in connection with their innovation efforts.
