CLSS 4: Cross-Border Crime: At the SCC and in your Practice

When criminal conduct crosses borders, as it does more frequently every year, international law issues are raised. Some of these are obvious but many are obscure, and figuring out how to deal with the international law issues in a Canadian criminal case can be daunting—not least because it’s not always clear even what to look for.

In this seminar Professor Rob Currie will give you a guided tour through some of the main issues that can arise in cases involving cross-border conduct. He will review relevant concepts, provisions and cases (some of which you may never have heard of), give some practical tips, and highlight some forthcoming developments that may be just around the corner in your own practice.
