There is no aspect of the litigation process that is not affected by costs. As litigation counsel, you must be able to manage all cost aspects of your files, as between you and your client and also as between your client and the opposing side, from the opening retainer to the final bill of costs.
This comprehensive 5.5 hour program will be offered on two separate days and is designed to give counsel at all levels a strong working knowledge of the principles and practice that govern the law of costs. Part 1 (2.5 hours) will focus on Costs as Between Lawyer and Client. Part 2 (3.0 hours) (date TBD) will focus on Costs as Between Parties.
This comprehensive two-part program will cover the core areas and current issues and developments in this critical facet of litigation practice.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 2.5 hours (this course will contain a minimum of .5 hours pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
