Court Etiquette Virtually and In-Person: Courthouse Libraries BC

November 14, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Do surroundings and attire really matter that much when appearing in court virtually? Is there a difference in the expectations of counsel in Provincial Court vs. Supreme Court? These are just some of the questions our panel will address in this 1.5hr discussion on court etiquette and professionalism.

Our panelists will include:

  • Justice Janet Winteringham of the BC Supreme Court,
  • Judge Jennifer Lopes of the BC Provincial Court, and
  • Michael Klein, KC

This presentation is co-organized by CDAS and Courthouse Libraries BC and while it is primarily aimed at criminal law practitioners and junior counsel, it will likely be of benefit to all lawyers looking to enhance their court etiquette skills. Upon registering, participants will be provided with a link for submitting questions in advance.

Members of the Law Society of BC may claim up to 1.5hrs of CPD for attending this course, including up at 1.5hrs of Professional Ethics credit.
