The Right NOT to Remain Silent

February 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join Mental Health Research Canada in their upcoming webinar, The Right NOT to Remain Silent.

This free, live session focuses on mental health in the legal profession and law-adjacent fields. It is an area where high expectations, heavy workloads, and professional culture often make it difficult to speak openly about stress, burnout, or personal challenges.

Moderated by MHRC CEO Akela Peoples, the conversation brings together:

  • Beth Beattie, Lawyer, Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General
  • Michael Herman, Lawyer and Partner, Gowling WLG
  • Doron Gold, Psychotherapist and Wellness Educator

Beth and Michael will share their lived experiences navigating mental health challenges in legal workplaces, alongside a broader discussion about how these issues show up across the profession. With both professional insight and personal reflection, the panel will explore what silence costs and what meaningful support can look like in high-pressure environments.

This is not a conversation about weakness. It is about culture, responsibility, and the real experiences of people working in demanding roles.

We would love for your organization to join us, and we would be grateful if you might also share this opportunity with members or colleagues who may find it valuable. The session includes live Q&A, and participants are welcome to submit questions in advance.

If you are interested, registration is open*, and attendees will receive the access link ahead of the event.

Thank you for all the work you do to support the legal community. I hope you will consider joining us for this important conversation.

* If you’re having trouble with the link above, you can find the registration page here.
