Brianna Ludlow is an incoming third-year student at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where she is completing her Juris Doctor as well as a Specialization in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law. Born and raised in central Newfoundland, she calls both Grand Falls-Windsor and Badger home and is a member of Qalipu First Nation.
Brianna is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts double majoring in Psychology and Political Science, as well as a Certificate in Criminology. During her undergraduate career, she earned several academic awards, including two Dean’s List awards and the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences Book Prize for the 2019-2020 school year.
At law school, Brianna is part of the Indigenous Blacks & Mi’kmaq Initiative and is involved in the Dalhousie Indigenous Law Students Association, where she has served as a 1L Representative, External Communications Officer, and the incoming Social Representative and Co-President for the 2024-2025 school year. This summer, she worked as a Summer Research Assistant at the Schulich School of Law, assisting her professors with several projects in the fields of Aboriginal and Indigenous law. She has also previously completed volunteer work for the Mi’kmaw Legal Support Network through Pro Bono Dalhousie.
Upon graduation in 2025, Brianna hopes to stay in Nova Scotia or return to Newfoundland to serve her community through public interest legal work. She is incredibly honoured to receive the Indigenous Law Student Scholarship and is extremely grateful for the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador’s support.
