The S.S. Daisy Legal History Committee invites you to a dramatic reading of Leviathan Unbound: Currie et al. v. Macdonald et al., a play by John Joy. This compelling work revisits a pivotal 1948 legal case in which six members of Newfoundland’s House of Assembly and Legislative Council challenged the legitimacy of the National Convention and confederation referendum. This historic case ultimately sought a court declaration deeming the actions of the Governor and Commissioners of Government unconstitutional.
