Atlantic Canada Access to Justice Colloquium

Reimagining Justice: Atlantic Canada
The Action Committee’s Regional Colloquia Series

Date: November 25, 2020
Time: 1:30 pm-4:00 pm, NL time
Cost: free

The justice system currently faces operational and logistical challenges spurred by the pandemic, as well as substantive and ideological challenges of systemic racism in our systems and in the law. Combined with the long-standing barriers to accessible justice, these challenges create an urgency, and an opportunity, to reimagine justice. The Action Committee is taking this moment to bring people together in five regional colloquia across the country to connect, to listen and to reimagine justice.

Agenda

  • Beverley McLachlin – A2J in These Times
  • Restorative Justice in the Civil and Family Context
  • Tools for Collaborating Regionally
  • A2J Updates from each province

The facilitated session will include small group discussion and opportunities to share local ideas and strengthen regional connections. People working both within and ancillary to the justice system are invited to participate, bringing their local and professional perspectives to the discussion.

Please register for this free event here. A meeting link will be sent to all registered participants the day before the event.
