Framing Contemporary Issues and the Impact of Microaggressions

Seminar overview: Participants can expect to learn about how microaggressions show up in the workplace, the effects they have on individuals, and what employers can do about them.
In this seminar, we will:
- explore and engage in discussion and information-sharing on the historical context of race
and racism in Canada and its present-day impacts on equity seeking communities with a
focus on the BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of colour) community; - discuss and learn about the fluidity of anti-Black racism within systemic and institutional
structures; and - explore the interconnectedness of social identities, privilege and whiteness.
