Changes to Library Access
Please be advised that we are moving to the next phase of our pandemic operations plan.
Starting Tuesday, March 15th, the Law Library will be:
- Permitting up to 6 visitors at a time to the Law Library in order to ensure safe physical distancing for staff and visitors
- Allowing members to access the Law Library at any time during our open hours OR anytime after hours by way of issued fob cards, subject to the restrictions noted below. Please be aware:
- after hours access is at member’s own risk
- fob cards can be obtained by contacting lawlibrary@lsnl.ca or calling Leah Griffiths, Library Technician at (709) 753-7770
- Permitting the public to access the Law Library by appointment only and subject to the restrictions noted below
- Continuing to provide members with the option to use remote services (contactless pickup, text scanning/table of contents scanning, text referral, and remote reference)
The following restrictions are in place:
- Proof of vaccination (either NLVax Pass or print proof) is required
- Masks are required at all times while present in the Law Library
- Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer will be provided at stations and members are requested to clean their station before leaving
- The first floor will be open with stations marked to encourage physical distancing; the 2nd floor remains closed – if you require items from the 2nd floor please speak to staff
- If you are returning books or mail, we ask that you continue to use the blue book drop and the red mail bin in the porch area rather than bringing them into the library in order to limit contact with staff
- Member browsing on the 1st floor shelving areas, including the reserve texts, will be restored – we ask that members be cautious and not enter a shelving area that someone is already browsing
Any questions or concerns can be directed to the Executive Director, Brenda B. Grimes at bgrimes@lsnl.ca or 722-4795.
