Volunteer Opportunity: Board of Directors – St. Michael’s Printshop
St. Michael’s Printshop provides the facilities and opportunities for visual artists from across the province and internationally to learn and engage in the art of printmaking. One of the province’s few artist-run centres and the only artist-run printmaking studio, SMP promotes and continues to push the boundaries of printmaking as a contemporary art form. SMP provides space and specialized equipment for artists to work, educational opportunities through scholarships and workshops, and residencies through its visiting artist program.
SMP currently has a vacancy on its Board of Directors and is inviting expressions of interest. The Board of Directors is comprised of a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Committee Chairs, and Members-at-Large. St. Michael’s Printshop (SMP) board members serve a two or three-year volunteer term (renewable) and bring dedication, energy, and experience to the organization. We seek persons with a broad range of knowledge and skills, and who have a strong interest in printmaking practices – at this time SMP is particularly seeking a volunteer that would be able to advise the Board in legal matters as they arise from time to time.
SMP values diversity and inclusivity in our communities. We highly encourage participation from visible minority group members, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, persons of minority sexual orientations and gender identities and others with the skills and knowledge to productively engage with diverse communities.
Expressions of interest, or questions about this unique volunteer opportunity, can be submitted to chairstmichaelsprintshop@gmail.com
