The Federation of Law Societies of Canada is challenging the Income Tax Act provisions that require legal counsel to report confidential information about their client’s activities to the Canada Revenue Agency.

The Government of Canada has agreed to a consent injunction to the earlier of November 20, 2023. As noted in the News Release, the judge has extended the existing injunction until December 1, 2023.
