The Law Commission of Canada (LCC) is pleased to announce a key aspect of its ongoing renewal: the launch of its newly redesigned and reconstructed website.

This new platform will serve as an intuitive and welcoming hub for the LCC’s research and outreach initiatives. The website will feature the LCC’s publications, updates on various engagements, key law reform resources, and the consolidated digital archives of the work undertaken by the LRCC (1971-1993) and the LCC (1997-2006).

Initial highlights for visitors include:

• Visual identity: An emblem that encapsulates the LCC’s mission of living law, pursuing justice, and renewing hope.
• What We Heard: A report summarizing insights gained by the LCC from June to December 2023, with a second report covering January to May 2024 to be released in June.
• Letters from the LCC: Monthly reflections written by President Shauna Van Praagh since she began her mandate in June 2023.
• Intersections: A framework for understanding, developing, and implementing the LCC’s goals and potential.

The website is also designed to be a network for law reform and justice actors, linking to the websites of provincial law reform agencies, Canadian faculties of law, law societies, law foundations, bar associations, and other partners both in Canada and internationally. It includes sections for sharing news items and the latest work from LCC partners. The LCC encourages the submission of recent successes and noteworthy initiatives to help amplify them to a broader audience, showcasing the dynamism and breadth of law reform efforts across Canada. As the LCC evolves, so will the website. Regular visits are encouraged, along with following the LCC on social media platforms such as LinkedIn and X.
