We are officially in Pride Season, a time to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, acknowledge the progress made towards equality, and recognize the ongoing efforts needed to achieve acceptance and rights for all.

The Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, through its Equity and Diversity Committee, is committed to diversity, inclusiveness, and increasing awareness. Pride Season is an opportunity to honour and empower those who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and to recognize their struggle in society.

The legal community has played a pivotal role in advancing 2SLGBTQIA+ rights. From landmark decisions that have shaped national policies to local initiatives promoting inclusive practices, the legal profession continues to be at the forefront of advocating for equal rights.

We invite you to participate in Pride events, support 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations, and reflect on the role we play in fostering an inclusive environment. By engaging in these activities, we can demonstrate our commitment to justice and equality, and celebrate the vibrant diversity that strengthens our society.
