This seminar is designed to provide members with an in-depth understanding of how to request Gladue reports and navigate the Gladue process in our justice system.
Agenda Highlights:
Gladue Report Process: Learn about the newly launched portal, understand who is responsible for requesting reports from the courts, and get an overview of expected timelines.
Confirmation of Heritage: Learn about how heritage is confirmed in a manner that keeps access barriers low.
Gladue Information in an Open Court: Explore the use of discretion in handling Gladue information, the potential for closing the courtroom, and recent court rulings on the legal threshold for demonstrating consideration of Gladue factors.
