The College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is seeking a lawyer for in-house Legal Counsel.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Legal Counsel provides a wide range of legal services and advice to the CRNNL relating to the governance of the nursing profession, representing the CRNNL at hearings, during investigations and other administrative / regulatory processes. Legal Counsel also provides legal research, policy advice and other assistance as needed.
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:
- A law degree and membership in good standing of the Law Society of NL
- A minimum of 3-5 years of post-Bar private, corporate in-house or government legal practice, with experience in Administrative law
- Experience appearing before administrative tribunals and/or court.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
This is a permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week. The College offers an attractive compensation package that includes a competitive salary, comprehensive health and dental benefits, and the Government of NL pension plan.
The salary range for this position is $114,877 to $149,341.
