Reminder for Firms with Summer Students

All firms hosting summer students are reminded that students who have not yet begun articling must have a completed Secondary Clientele Access Form with the Law Library before they are permitted to borrow materials.

Second- and third-year students are eligible for both borrowing privileges and after-hours access cards, provided they are sponsored by a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador in good standing. First-year students are eligible for borrowing privileges only; when submitting an access form for these students, please select “borrowing only.”

Please ensure that all access cards are returned directly to the Law Library—not to your firm—before the student’s placement ends, as the cards remain the property of the Law Library.

Completed forms should be submitted to: jthornhill@lsnl.ca

Note:
Articling students do not require this form, as they qualify as student members of the LSNL. Access cards for articling students can be requested by contacting Leah Griffiths at lgriffiths@lsnl.ca.

Please note that individuals completing the NCA process are not eligible for borrowing privileges or after-hours access until they are officially accepted as student members of the LSNL.
