NOTICE TO THE PROFESSION AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC
COURT OPERATIONS

REGISTRY HOURS

Effective Monday, June 30, 2025, Provincial Court Registry hours across the Province will be 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, instead of 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. This will not impact current hours of access to courthouses or courtrooms.

Stakeholders are also reminded of the following:

• Canada Federal Rules Can. Reg. SI/2004-134 — Rules of the Provincial Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in Criminal Proceedings
• 6.02(2) The party making an application shall obtain from the clerk a place, date and time of hearing of the application
• 6.04(2) Minimum Notice Period: Except if otherwise expressly provided by the Code or these rules, or as ordered by a judge in accordance with rule 2.02, the Notice of Application shall be served not later than 15 days before the date of the hearing of the application.
