Survey: Family Law Professionals’ Experiences and Training Needs in Cases Involving Family Violence

The Trauma Informed Responses Research Group at the University of Toronto is still recruiting legal and mental health professionals to complete the survey for their study. This study will review professionals’ experiences and training needs when working with families affected by family violence in family law cases. The study is open to professionals working in family law across Canada including legal and mental health professionals across roles. This research will provide information on training and workplace support needs for family law professionals as well as offer insights on improvements to responses for those affected by family violence.

This project is being run by Dr. Ellen Gutowski. This study has also been approved by the University of Toronto Research Ethics Board Protocol # 49806 (University Research Ethics Board contact: ethics.review@utoronto.ca).
