The Public Legal Information Association of NL (PLIAN) and the NL Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre will be offering free Trauma Informed Training Sessions for Lawyers as part of the Sexual Violence Legal Support Service launching in June. This training will cover a number of issues related to trauma-informed practice and is intended to enable lawyers to better support clients who have experienced sexual violence. In addition, the training will provide general information about the Sexual Violence Legal Support Service and the Journey Project.

The training sessions will be held June 6, 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM at Sinbad’s Hotel in Gander and June 12, 9 AM – 12 PM at the Law Society in St. John’s.

This training is required for participation on the lawyer referral roster for the Sexual Violence Legal Support Service. However, all members of the Law Society are welcome to attend.
