Date: June 29, 2021
Time: 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Seminar overview: The ability to read and understand legal surveys and real property reports is of vital importance for lawyers practicing in the area of real property. Errors in interpretation can easily result in a significant professional negligence claim. Despite this, many lawyers have not received significant training to develop this skillset and instead rely upon the advice handed down to them from their principal and other colleagues in the profession.
This seminar will examine the fundamentals of surveying real property in Newfoundland and Labrador. It will explain the distinction between a legal survey and real property reports, as well as the role that each play in real property transactions. Finally, it will provide you with an understanding on how to read and interpret surveys and real property reports using several real-world examples.
