Court of Appeals – Operations for Week of February 22-26, 2021
The Court of Appeal has suspended hearings scheduled for the week of February 22-26, 2021 in response to the current Covid-19 situation.
All matters suspended during the week of February 22-26, 2021 will be rescheduled. All counsel and/or litigants will be contacted accordingly and a new hearing date will be
provided.
The Court of Appeal Registry will remain closed for in-person attendances until further notice.
The Court of Appeal will continue to hear emergency or urgent matters. If you are seeking an urgent hearing, please contact the Registry by email at coaregistry@appeal.court.nl.ca or telephone the Court of Appeal Registry at (709) 729-0066.
Urgent filings may be sent by email to coaregistry@appeal.court.nl.ca. For time sensitive matters, the Court will accept electronic filings. Drop boxes will be made available on March 1, 2021 located at Supreme Court, 309 Duckworth Street, St. John’s.
It is anticipated that matters scheduled on the Court of Appeal docket after March 8, 2021 will proceed unless notified otherwise. Parties will be notified if their matter will be heard by videoconference, teleconference or in-person depending on the Covid-19 situation and the public health advice from the Chief Medical Officer at that time.
