The Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador is the legal profession’s regulatory body responsible for the protection of the public interest. We are seeking an Administrative Assistant (Maternity Leave Replacement) to join our valued team and provide support in risk management activities.

Salary Range

  • $45,387.00 – $55,473.00

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, review, edit, access, and manage a wide range of legal documents, files, records, and correspondence of a confidential and privileged nature, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and comprehensiveness
  • Establish and maintain a calendar of events and a reminder system for assigned supervisors
  • Arrange meetings, coordinate travel, and schedule appointments
  • Create and maintain filing systems, enter and retrieve information, and perform file searches
  • Prepare statements of accounts, complete related transactions, and conduct follow-up
  • Ensure records management including security and confidentiality

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have experience in administrative work supplemented by the successful completion of an office administration program from a recognized educational institution. Excellent computer, interpersonal, organizational, and professionalism skills are required. Experience in a legal environment, basic accounting, and records management skills would be assets.

The successful applicant will be required to provide a satisfactory certificate of conduct from the local police department.
