About the Opportunity
These positions are based in Western Region and report to the Chief Crown Attorney, Western Region. Key responsibilities include:

Conducting prosecutions of charges resulting from law enforcement investigations
-
Providing legal advice to law enforcement agencies
-
Undertaking other prosecution duties as directed by the Chief Crown Attorney
Qualifications & Experience
-
Must be a practicing member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society (or eligible to become one)
-
Strong understanding of the prosecution process, including:
-
Criminal procedures
-
Evidence
-
Substantive criminal law
-
-
Minimum one (1) year of significant criminal litigation experience
-
Ability to travel throughout the province for case prosecutions
-
May be required to work extended periods outside of Digby, including court proceedings in Annapolis Royal

Successful applicants must provide a current Certificate of Standing from all law societies where they are members (practicing or non-practicing)
