As a Crown Prosecutor, you will help deliver justice through fair and effective prosecutions. Public Prosecutions handles cases under the Criminal Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act, various federal statutes, and certain provincial statutes. The branch promotes safe communities by achieving fair resolutions of criminal charges through approaches ranging from vigorous trial prosecution to alternative measures in collaboration with justice partners and community organizations.

Eligible for, and able to maintain, membership in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan.

Ability to pass a criminal record check.

Experience with CJIMS is an asset but not required.

Litigation experience in criminal law is an asset but not required.
Job Duties
Under the direction of a Regional Crown Prosecutor and Public Prosecutions’ Head Office, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties. Primary responsibilities include managing criminal, quasi-criminal, and regulatory prosecutions in the Saskatchewan Provincial Court and the Court of King’s Bench. This includes docket court work, trial work, and summary conviction appeals.
Other duties include providing legal opinions, reviewing police reports, and offering advice to police when appropriate. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to legal education in areas such as criminal law and ethics.
The position may require working evenings and weekends as necessary. Travel by road—and possibly air—is required, including occasional overnight stays in other communities.
Salary will be based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include at least three weeks of annual vacation, twelve scheduled days off, statutory holidays, and full benefits after six months of service.
