FOEAA Amendments and Regulations
The FOEAA (Family Orders and Agreement Enforcement Assistance Act) amendments were gazetted on June 21, along with new regulations replacing the old Release of Information for Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance Regulations.
Under the Regulations, the Court can request income information for the purpose of establishing or varying support, as well as related to corporations controlled by a party and Support Enforcement can request information for previous tax years.
THE FOEAA amendments and most of the new Regulations come into force on November 15, 2023, including the release of financial information from the Income Tax and Benefit Return (T1) and related schedules. Other amendments related to CRA forms will come into force next year.
