Invitation to Participate in Child and Youth Care Research Study

Relationships First Newfoundland and Labrador invites members of the legal community to participate in an important research study led by Dr. Michelle Sullivan and Dr. Gale Burford. The project, titled Futurespective: Evolving Child & Youth Care Movement and Services in Newfoundland & Labrador (1980s – Now), explores the development of child and youth care work and services across the province.

Members with direct or indirect experience working with children and young people who are in care, at risk of entering care, or transitioning out of care or custody are encouraged to participate. The study seeks input from professionals across sectors, including child and family services, education, justice, law enforcement, and health and mental health services. Survey findings will inform follow-up interviews and a facilitated discussion at the June 2026 Child and Youth Care Conference in St. John’s.
