The Law Society would like to advise you that Phyllis E. Weir, LL.B. will be leaving the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador effective April 28, 2017 to pursue new challenges.

Phyllis has been the Legal Director of the Law Society for the past 22 years and, during her tenure, has been actively engaged in efforts, both locally and nationally, to reform the regulatory environment. She has played an integral role in the development and implementation of National Discipline Standards and the adoption and ongoing review of the new Code of Professional Conduct, initiatives which have strengthened the ability of all law societies to fulfill their roles of regulation, in the public interest.

On behalf of Benchers, members and staff of the Law Society, we would like to express our appreciation and thanks to Phyllis for her hard work and dedication and to extend our congratulations and best wishes to her as she embarks on new adventures.
