New Release from Homewood Health: Supporting Someone at Risk
Homewood Health is pleased to share its new resource, Supporting Someone at Risk: Suicide and Self-Harm Awareness.
“Ongoing stress, emotional exhaustion, workplace conflict, job insecurity, or high-pressure environments can affect mental well-being. Over time, some people may begin to feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected, hopeless, or trapped in patterns they no longer know how to manage. Conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, or unresolved trauma can increase suicide risk, particularly when someone feels isolated or unsupported. Mental health conditions can affect how people view themselves, their future, and their ability to cope. Suicide and mental health challenges may carry significant stigma or be viewed as something that should not be discussed openly.”
Common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide and self-harm, ways to support someone experiencing emotional distress, and practical strategies that can help foster connection, safety, and hope are explored in this September 2026 article.
Help and resources are available to all Law Society members, family, and staff anytime by contacting Homewood Health at 1-800-663-1142, or locally at (709) 754-3007.
