Notice – Benson Buffett Law Firm

We are circulating the following message as some of you may be experiencing similar issues without even being aware of it:

Benson Buffett appears to be having issues receiving a small percentage of emails from certain service providers such as Bell Aliant.

Microsoft Office 365, which Benson Buffett uses, has increased their security standards to prevent fraudulent email which means that email messages sent to them using an un-authenticated outgoing email server are rejected outright and are not delivered to the recipient.

The senders may not receive any notice that their emails were not sent properly, and the recipient is not receiving any notice that an email was sent. Therefore, if you have sent an email message to Benson Buffett and haven’t received a response within 24 hours you may fall into this category. If you are unsure whether Benson Buffett has received an email that you have sent, please email them at and include the name of the person to whom the email should be directed.

We encourage you to check with your IT Support to review your email settings and ensure you are using the proper outgoing email server settings. As an example Bell clients would need to follow the recommended settings found here.
