NOTICE TO THE PROFESSION AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC

St. John’s, Grand Falls-Windsor, and Stephenville Provincial Courts

CIVIL HEARINGS, TRAFFIC HEARINGS, AND CONTRAVENTIONS ACT CASES

Civil hearings, traffic hearings, and matters under the Contraventions Act for St. John’s, Grand Falls-Windsor, and Stephenville Provincial Courts are adjourned indefinitely. The Court will contact parties regarding rescheduled dates.

CHANNEL-PORT AUX BASQUES CIRCUIT

Travel to the Channel-Port aux Basques circuit will be suspended following the December 3–5, 2025 circuit.

All future matters will be scheduled in Stephenville Provincial Court, and participants will be required to attend there unless otherwise directed.

BAIE VERTE CIRCUIT

Travel to the Baie Verte circuit is suspended immediately and until further notice.

All presently scheduled Baie Verte matters will be heard in Grand Falls-Windsor Provincial Court, and participants must attend there unless otherwise directed.

MENTAL HEALTH COURT (MHC)

Effective January 14, 2026, a new bi-weekly appearance slot for St. John’s Provincial Court will occur on alternate Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. for individuals seeking entry into MHC.

These appearances will be scheduled in Courtroom #5.

INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INTERVENTION COURT (IPVIC)

• Stephenville Provincial Court:
  Effective January 7, 2026, IPVIC will be called bi-weekly at 2:00 p.m. in Courtroom #2.

• Grand Falls-Windsor Provincial Court:
  Effective January 14, 2026, IPVIC will be called bi-weekly at 2:00 p.m. in Courtroom #2.

Court operations will be monitored to ensure optimal service during these challenging times. Case rescheduling will be reflected on the Provincial Court online docket: docket.court.nl.ca. Please check the docket before attending Court to confirm your appearance date.
