Interpersonal Violence Disclosure Protocol Act
The Honourable John Hogan, KC, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General, made the announcement on November 2, 2023, that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador proclaimed into force the Interpersonal Violence Disclosure Protocol Act, commonly known as Clare’s Law. This initiative is aimed at increasing the safety of individuals in intimate relationships who are at risk of violence from their partners.
Applications through the Interpersonal Violence Disclosure process, also known as Clare’s Law, can be made by the person at risk or a support person, with the person at risk’s consent.
